WoW Tailoring Leveling Guide 1 - 600

This WoW Tailoring guide will show you the fastest and easiest way how to get your Tailoring skill up from 1 to 600. Updated for WoW patch 5.2
You will need thousands of cloths if you want to level Tailoring. It will cost thousands of gold to buy the cloths, or if you farm them, it will take a lot of time to farm everything. Tailoring is good combined with Enchanting because you will be able to disenchant most items you craft, but an Enchanter friend can do it for you too. Check out my Enchanting leveling guide if you want to level Enchanting.Keep in mind, this Tailoring guide is made to level your profession as fast as possible, so sometimes the cloths you will make might not be the best items for your level or they won't be really profitable if you want to sell them.

  • 260 Linen Cloth
  • 135 Wool Cloth
  • 780 Silk Cloth
  • 396 Mageweave Cloth
  • 780 Runecloth
  • 790 Netherweave Cloth
  • 20 Knothide Leather
  • 20 Infinite Dust
  • 20 Eternal Life or Fire or Shadow
  • 1200 Frostweave Cloth
  • 885 Embersilk Cloth
  • 30 Hypnotic Dust
  • 450 Windwool Cloth
  • Spirit of Harmony

Tailoring Leveling Guide 1 - 75

First, visit any trainer in the main cities of old Azeroth - just ask a guard, and learn Apprentice Tailoring. You can buy "Threads" and "Dye" from the Tailoring supply vendors.
Stop making these if you reach Tailoring 45, and make more only if you need it.

75 - 125

Learn Tailoring Journeyman.

125 - 200

Learn Tailoring Expert.

200 - 300

Learn Tailoring Artisan.
  • 280 - 295
    18 x [Runecloth Gloves] - 90 Bolt of RuneclothRecipe goes yellow at 290, get enough materials for 18.

300 - 350

Visit your trainer and learn Tailoring Master.

350 - 425

Visit your trainer and learn Tailoring Grand Master.
Check out my Frostweave Cloth farming guide if you want to farm the cloths.
Keep these, you will need them later.
Make a few [Duskweave Leggings] if you didn't reach 405.
- 10 Bolt of Imbued Frostweave, 20 Eternal Life, Fire, Shadow
You can also make [Frostweav Bag] instead of these. It will cost you a lot more gold to level with the bags, but when you sell all of them at the Auction House, you will get most of your gold back. You will need to make more Bolt of Imbued Frostweave if you level with bags.

425 - 500

Visit your trainer and learn Tailoring Illustrious.
  • 480 - 484
    4 x [Spiritmend Leggings] - 16 Bolt of Embersilk ClothIt is really important to stop making these at 484!
  • 484 - 494
    2 x [Embersilk Bag] - 30 Bolt of Embersilk Cloth, 30 Hypnotic DustYou will get 5 skill points for each bag. You can also make two [Otherworldly Bag] instead of the Embersilk Bags, but it is usually harder to sell.
Check your Calendar in-game to see if the Darkmoon Faire is open, the event starts at 00:01 on the Sunday before the 1st Monday of each month.
You can gain +5 skill points by completing a single quest. 

500 - 600

Visit your trainer and learn Zen Tailoring.
  • 577 - 600
    Once you reach 575 you can purchase vendor recipes for the last 25 points. The Tailoring recipes are on a vendor in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. You can enter Vale of Eternal Blossoms after completing the quest A Celestial Experience (requires level 87). After you completed the quest, you can find Esha the Loommaiden (Horde) in Shrine of Two Moons and Raishen the Needle (Alliance) in Shrine of Seven Stars.You'll need 1 Spirit of Harmony to purchase a recipe and you only need one recipe. You can get Spirit of Harmony by combining 10 Motes of Harmony. Motes are dropped by every mob in Pandaria, even in dungeons. The drop rate is low, so it may take you 2 hours to collect 10 motes.
    Choose one recipe from the vendor, but buy a recipe that you have the required skill for, some recipes requires Tailoring 590. It doesn't matter which one you choose because if one of them requires more Bolt of Windwool Cloth, it will give you more skill points. You will need around 32 Bolt of Windwool Cloth for this part.
